What some folks have said…
From the first time we spoke, we knew that Sue had an exceptional capacity to understand every aspect of the bigger picture of our festival. Her concise clarity and broad base of knowledge has been essential to us at a critical stage in our organization’s development.

A+ From our first email exchange to the delivery of the Final Report, I knew I had made the right decision to hire Sue Edworthy to help promote Face Value: West at SummerWorks 2015.
Sue is a smart, creative, dedicated and highly efficient collaborator. Thanks to her efforts, I was a SummerWorks Artist To Watch in NOW Magazine; we generated impressive word of mouth and glowing reviews of my fully improvised experiment with Kate Ashby’s west end Toronto photography.
Sue’s humour was a constant throughout every step of the process. This was money well spent and I would hire her again in a heartbeat.
Tracey Hoyt, Performer/Producer Face Value: West
Dorothy Mae Productions
Sue was an absolute delight to work with when we presented Fishskin Trousers this fall. Passionate, polished and professional, she was always on the ball and helped our team out immensely. Her publicity and marketing expertise allowed our company to confidently focus our efforts on other production needs – what a relief! She is a gem and I can’t wait to have another opportunity to work with her again.
Producer – Cart/Horse Theatre, Fishskin Trousers
Everything I desired in a publicist/marketer I found in Sue Edworthy. She is professional, reliable and available at all times. Working with Sue took much of the burden that comes with a production’s publicity and marketing, freeing me to focus my attention on other important areas. I would strongly recommend and will continue to work with Sue in the future.
Producer, Release The Stars: The Ballad of Randy and Evi Quaid
Our 2013 remount of our fringe hit ‘dirty butterfly‘ with Obsidian Theatre was a significant time for us: we were birthing the production professionally in conjunction with the birth of our first child – we needed a strong network around us: people who could execute our vision flawlessly with precision and passion. There was no room for stress or error. There wasn’t a time during either process where we couldn’t put total faith into Sue. She is tough but sensitive, she thinks outside the box but makes sure the box is full on the inside first. She is a total mix of precision and creativity.
Co-Artistic Director, Bound to Create Theatre
Sue is passionate about the arts – all of them! She’s wonderful to have in your court, and when the unexpected happens, because the unexpected always happens (it’s part of the plan, didn’t you know?), she’ll be your first call of the day and last call at night.
Artistic Director, One Little Goat Theatre Company
Sue was our first choice to handle the publicity and communications for our 10th Anniversary Season production of Ching Chong Chinaman. Her expertise, work ethic and sensibilities fit right into the culture at fu-GEN Theatre. Sue’s creativity and ability to merge her business with our artistic aesthetic is unparalleled in her field. Her passion for the arts and tireless commitment to your project as if it were her sole concern make her a force to be reckoned with. For a small company with limited resources, Sue was just what we needed, when we needed it. Seriously, just f**king hire her.
David Yee/Carin Lowerison
Artistic Director/General Manager, fu-GEN Theatre Company
Logistics Manager, Edward Bond Festival
Sue brought her knowledge, enthusiasm, and “can do” attitude to her work with Pax Christi Chorale, helping us expand our communications activities, and build our internal capacity. She opened new and exiting avenues for us to pursue, making our marketing efforts more effective in the process. And she made it fun! Thanks Sue.
General Manager, Pax Christie Chorale
Sue recently handled the marketing for our show AWAKE in this year’s Fringe Festival of Toronto. We really needed her genius, creativity and expertise to help us stand out in a festival of 155 shows. And Sue delivered! Thanks to her hard work, the show was previewed in almost every publication and the show went on to be the second largest grossing show in the Fringe. The unique marketing collateral she created for Awake were some of the most talked about at the Fringe – “AWAKE has made great highly effective hand fans available in their Walmer Church Sanctuary venue. Best part, you can take them with you.” – Mooney on Theatre. Sue went above and beyond the call duty. I look forward to working with her again on our next project!
Laura Mullin, Co-Artistic Director, Expect Theatre
Sue helped us to promote a fundraising concert that took place during Luminato and the Stratford and Shaw festival opening weeks. It was not an easy task but she managed to move mountains and get a ton of exposure for Theatre 20. She has established relationships with important media contacts in Toronto and, in many cases, was able to open new doors for us. We felt that her efforts really had a positive impact on ticket sales. She also gave detailed feedback when it was requested and was a pleasure to work with.
Tamara Bernier-Evans, Artistic Producer, Theatre 20
Sue is a multi-faceted marketing genius who provided three exemplary services: she facilitated an intense day of brainstorming regarding needs and strategies with our Vision Committee, shared her fascinating career narrative with to Arts and Careers students, and led a number of fund-raising workshops in “how to make the ask” for our Entrepreneurship class. (2008/09 Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts)
– Catherine Thompson, Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts
I worked with Sue as part of a collaborative team at Artscape, to produce CP+S (an arts, science, and cities conference) the theme of which was “The Collaborative City”. Sue’s particular expertise on this team involved writing and social media. I found her to be highly motivated, creative and proficient in both roles, and she was able to deliver even under tight deadlines and budgets.
– Carolyn Taylor, Producer, Creative Places+Spaces 2008
Sue and I have a long working history together in Toronto’s performing arts scene and both share a vision for building healthy and creative cities. As a fellow member of the Board of Directors at the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts, we worked together to coordinate such initiatives as Backstage Toronto and the Toronto Independent Theatre and Dance Trade Forum. Sue’s immense marketing knowledge and promotions savvy were key contributors to the success of these programs, I could always count on her to go above and beyond and continue to be inspired by her enthusiasm and love for the performing arts and city building. She is an innovative, dynamic and visionary thinker and remains on the cutting edge of many marketing trends.
– Bridget MacIntosh, City of Hamilton
Sue was an energetic and creative contributor to ArtsVote, ensuring a vital and effective social media profile for our work. She was immediately on top of every opportunity to expand our network and broadcast our message – we owe a great deal of our success to her. And she was a total pleasure to work with!
– Jini Stolk, Executive Director, Creative Trust
Sue is fantastic at what she does – highly motivated and committed to her clients and the vision of artists. – Shana Hillman, Arts Administrator
